The hip-hop education field represents one of the most innovative and exciting educational movements of the 21st century. Launched in 2010, as both an intervention and solution, the Hip-Hop Education Center (HHEC) is the first institution to distill research, conduct evaluation and training, and archive relevant hip-hop education related resources.

The HHEC aims to provide educators with pedagogical tools and capacity to create new approaches to teaching that can be applied in a number of educational settings.
